Versatile document handling and flatbed capture capabilities capture everything from standard business documents to fragile records, bound materials, envelopes, thick media and oversized documents, without introducing complex workarounds. While on the flatbed models, the ability of the ADF to slide left and right, and rotate 180 degrees means comfortable loading from either side and highly flexible deployment.

Combining scan speeds of up to 75 ppm / 75 ipm, a 300-sheet ADF, and continuous feeding capabilities, these scanners deliver exceptional throughput. On the fi-8700S, the integration of a production ADF with a high-speed A3 flatbed scanner enables operators to capture bound, fragile and irregular documents within the same workflow, eliminating the need to switch devices or create separate capture processes.

With Timer Scan and Multi-Crop functions plus an A4 scan speed of 0.6 seconds, the flatbed enables difficult documents to be digitised quickly without becoming a throughput bottleneck. Stoppages and manual effort are minimised, operational continuity is maximised.

Accurate, powerful automation further increases efficiency and control while reducing rework. The PaperStream IP driver cleans, enhances and optimises images for high-accuracy OCR and downstream processing. PaperStream Capture streamlines batch scanning via automated document separation and extraction of printed text and barcode data. It also incorporates tools for reviewing captured images and data before output.

Upgrading to PaperStream Capture Pro or Pro Premium adds enhanced data extraction from registered forms, including barcodes, tick boxes and non-cursive handwritten text. While configurable data checks and recognition-confidence thresholds help operators identify information requiring review before release.
