ITOKI TOKYO XORK (Japan)

The RICOH Portable Monitors perfectly aligned with the company's concept and desire for a wire-free environment

The Customer

ITOKI TOKYO XORK is an office space designed in such a way that fulfils the new way of working which ITOKI Co., Ltd. advocates. The name "XORK" is a cross between "WORK" and the letter "X" which comes after "W" in the alphabet, it represents the next dimension that they aim for, as well as being an office and showroom where customers can see how they take in new things and evolve every day.

The Challenge

Itoki Corp. launched a forward-thinking workspace called “XORK Style”, aimed at embracing the concept of Activity Based Working (ABW), where employees have the freedom to select their workspaces based on the demands of their work. They were in search of a solution to boost employee flexibility while eliminating the constraints imposed by conventional monitors requiring a constant power source. Their goal was to empower employees to freely select their ideal workspaces without the constraint of needing to be constantly tethered to power sources.

The Solution

presenting in a meeting with a Ricoh portable monitorItoki discovered that RICOH Portable Monitors perfectly aligned with their ABW concept and desire for a wire-free environment. These monitors offered not only ease of use but also the freedom to work anywhere within the office, regardless of power sources.

The integration of RICOH Portable Monitors seamlessly aligned with Itoki’s single-cable policy, eliminating the need for dedicated power sources. Using a single USB Type-C cable for both PC connection and power supply, employees experienced remarkable convenience. The wire-free workspace design included innovative experiments in powerless areas to promote flexibility.

The RICOH Portable Monitor Series is available in two models: wired connectivity (150) or wireless/wired connectivity (150BW). Both offer a blend of flexibility and flawless connectivity. It features a 15.6” HD OLED touchscreen display with vibrant brightness and superior contrast, elevating the visual experience. With 10-point touch capabilities, users effortlessly swipe, tap, and scroll, with the option to enhance usability further by using the RICOH Stylus pen for drawing and writing.
