The PaperStream Central Admin (formerly the Scanner Central Admin software) is an application that enables the centralised management of multiple scanners to update scanner settings and firmware. This software significantly reduces the cost and effort of setting up and maintaining large numbers of scanners. It is ideal for organizations that utilize scanners on a large scale and require additional scanners as they expand their businesses to new locations.
Conveniently check the current operating status of scanners. This function enables administrators to monitor the status of every scanner in the network in real time, and be notified when an error occurs or when a consumable part needs replacement. This ensures that the scanning environment is always maintained as comfortable for all operators.
A dashboard provides a summary of scanner information, such as the total number of sheets scanned and the status of scanner maintenance. Administrators can grasp the information for multiple scanners at a glance and take the next action immediately.
The PaperStream Central Admin can centrally manage a large number of scanners. Its function checks the scanner information, such as model name, system, firmware, and driver version, that is automatically registered to the application when connected to the network. Sorting the scanners by department allows the individual departments to update their own scanners.
The Gate Console function is useful when managing multiple PaperStream Central Admin applications with more than 1,000 scanner units. Administrators can centralise scanner management efficiently, especially when the PaperStream Central Admin application is installed on multiple servers individually. They can register instances of the PaperStream Central Admin into a single main instance to oversee the entire operation. This allows for updating all scanners simultaneously and collecting statistical information logs in one go.
The PaperStream Central Admin comes with a much simpler user interface, providing ease of use for centralised management tasks such as updating scanners, firmware, drivers, and more. Even when errors occur on the scanners, administrators can check the error on the Event Log tab of the application and directly jump to the page associated with the error in the Error Recovery Guide*. This helps save time by avoiding the need to look up the required page from the table of contents.
